This site is dedicated to publicizing discoveries of fossils in the Al Gharbia region of Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
Fieldwork and research work is directed by Andrew Hill (Yale University), Faysal Bibi (currently American Museum of Natural History), and Mark Beech (Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority). This website is maintained by Brian Kraatz (Western University of Health Sciences) and Faysal Bibi.
Our team also includes participants and scientists from many institutions around the world.
The Baynunah Paleontology Project proceeds as a collaboration between the Yale University Peabody Museum of Natural History and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. Our main source of funding has come from the Historic Environment Department of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
